Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Weymouth. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Learn more about homestay housing
WEC uses Weymouth College as its base in the summer. One of the buildings of the campus is used for the classes with green space to relax outside. Students have their lunch at the college canteen, play sports in the sports centre, use the theatre, dance and drama hall for a variety of fun activities. Only 5 minutes' walk away is the amazing Weymouth beach where students can play beach volleyball and play outdoor games.
Weymouth, a genuinely English town in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, is the perfect location for a summer course for teenagers. Ideally located on the south coast of England with a 5 kilometre sandy beach, street cafes, great shopping, an old fort the town has plenty to offer. The optional sailing and windsurfing courses take place at the same venue as the sailing events of the 2012 Olympics.
