Although the two towns merged in 1889, students will find that the two areas are sometimes still referred to by their old names. Students studying Japanese courses in Fukuoka will be amazed to know that Fukuoka has previously been voted one of the world’s most livable cities, due to the fact that it incorporates many green spaces into its metropolitan setting. Students attending Japanese school in Fukuoka will find that this thriving harbor town has much to offer. Take time to enjoy a stroll through Ohori Park, near the historic Fukuoka Castle. The Momochi Seaside Park is another must see, particularly because of its observation point, the Fukuoka Tower, which gives visitors an impressive view of the city.
