The town of Woodbridge sits not far from the coast in Suffolk in the eastern portion of England. It is located along the River Deben. The town has been in existence for over 1400 years with a history of boat building, rope making and sail making through the years. Students studying in an English school in Woodbridge will see examples of the town's history through the architecture which includes Tudor, Georgian, Regency and Victorian structures. There are plenty of opportunities to explore the area along the river, either via boating, or by making use of the riverside walks. Students will quickly discover that there is much to do in this active town. There are clubs for boating, bird watching, rugby, football, swimming and more. Students studying English courses in Woodbridge will enjoy the beautiful setting of this lovely town. There are spots to enjoy the local landscape and wildlife. Explore Dunwich Heath or Foxborrow Farm. Rendlesham Forest is another great place to explore, as it includes picnic areas as well as paths for cycling and walking. For those who enjoy shopping, be sure to check out the Woodbridge Antiques Centre. Students should be sure to visit the Woodbridge Tide Mill. The building dates back to 1170 and is one of the defining landmarks in the town. Be sure to visit the local market during your stay.
