The city of Norfolk is located in the state of Virginia. The city’s early history was tied to its strategic location as an important port. Through an interesting history, including a devastating fire and at one point in time, the decision to secede from the union, Norfolk has developed into the modern city of today that has many great monuments to its past. Students enrolled in English school in Norfolk should be sure to visit the Nauticus National Maritime Center. It is home to both the Battleship Wisconsin and the Schooner Virginia, as well as some interesting permanent exhibits. The Norfolk Botanical Garden is another popular excursion, complete with 155 acres filled with thousands of plants and over 30 themed gardens.
