"最後に愛は勝つ!"

Hani Ouali

Pros:
-I liked the teachers, especially Nemoto sensei. She helped me a lot with my growth by giving me complementary documentation with kanji and she even gifted me a guide on how to read Japanese newspaper!
-We did some fun activities, like going to 三渓園 and しゃぶ葉

Cons:
-it's difficult to make friends if you're not chinese because most of the students don't speak English nor Japanese
-I had some trouble dealing with the Nepali students because they are very dirty and noisy

If I had to give a number, I would say that more than 60% of the students are chinese and the rest are from Nepal. I would recommend westeners to go to Tōkyō instead.
I chose Yokohama because there were no schools in Kamakura

"3 months long Japanese language course"

Norbert Rakhel, student from Hungary

The school is very good, teachers are helpful, you can learn japanese language in good pace, at least for me the pace was adequate. Minna no nihongo was used as base, but we got tonns of other book in a filer. As I was in beginner group, i can speak only about it. I think the difference between teaching methods are appear here :). Be patient, you will get the same from teachers. There was a group of teachers, who changed on daily base. We got a teacher for monday, tuesday and so forth. Social activities: can't say anything, 3 monts is short time, but the feeling in school was very good, as a foreign student
The hotel was 5 mins walking, and it is very good.
As a beginner would I recommend it? Yes

"All 4 skills are taught well"

Do Quynh, student from Japan

I attended classes of Chinese students. For this class, each level of JPLT can be reached after 3 months. Teachers are kind and helpful. Grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, kanji are taught equally. At the end of 3 months, there is test to evaluate language level. There are also parties on special occasions, such as Xmas, Red leaf viewing, etc. AILC also cooperates with companies to introduce part-time job for students.

"It was a very enriching experience, teachers at higher levels are very passionate about actually getting students to get proficient at speaking japanese."

Ricardo Saucedo, student from Mexico

I liked many of the teachers at the higher levels.
The installations are rather lackluster since the school Is located at a shared building .
The surroundings of the school take some getting used to.
Students are very welcoming and kind to each other.
If I were to make any recommendations it would be to include support for students who are not from Asia, since many of the support from the staff is directed to the majority of chinese students attending the school while students from occidental countries tend to lack this kind of support.

"Profound. It was perhaps my greatest experience in Japan so far."

Sean Brown, student from Australia

I made many friends in the class, each from different nations but all united in their learning of Japanese. The teacher had huge hearts. They always tried their best to motivate and empathize with the students' situation, no matter their background. They threw a farewell party for me when I left the school, cooking okonomiyaki together in the classroom. I will never forget my experience at Asia International Language Centre.

The facilities at times were lacking (especially the toilets...) but overall I cannot complain.

"As efficient as expected"

Thibault Noailhat, student from Japan

The class were maybe a bit too full but everyone was friendly. The teacher were also very welcoming although I came only for one month, helpful and patient.

The location is perfect, close to Yokohama and to convenience stores.

The building is probably the negative point of this school. I was expecting a narrow building but the inside was a bit too "grey". I think it needs a better decoration and give a warmer atmosphere. A place where people can eat, drink and chat would also be great, because everyone has to come back in the class for the breaks as it is not allowed to eat near the building. The lack of fresh air is what bothered me the most. The class felt like an enclosed space and I don't think it's a good place to study although it's only for a few hours a day.

I didn't take part in activities with teachers as my time there was limited but I could share great moments with students anyway.

I had my own housing with a local which is the best I could have.
