"It was a very good experience where I learned a lot of english and met great people."

Paula Legido Marcos, student from USA

Chesnut Hill College was great and the time that I spent there was really greatfull too. The school were a bit far of my house, but the classrooms, gardens, gym... where really awesome. My teacher was perfect in all ways, she turned classes in a funny way to learn english. My classmates were very friendly too. I would like to repeat my experience any way.

"Great time at Chestnut Hill College"

Riccardo Giacomo Parolini, student from Italy

Terrific experience, I had great time with the class and the teachers. The facilities are also available before and after the class, so you can enjoy sport activities, workout at the gym or study in the libraries. The overall experience was really satisfactory.

There may have been some more social event in the afternoon to allow participation to the students whose classes end in the early afternoon.

"The course was below expected"

Michelle Garcia Discacciati de Carvalho, student from Brazil

The teacher was excellent and the school staff was also good. However, I paid for a week of course and actually only had two days of class! That's because the first day was just proof to see my level. On Thursday there was a test again and on Friday there was no class. That is, I paid for a week of classes and only had two days of classes.

"I was looking for something different"

Jordi Ramirez Bofill, student from Spain

In general, all my teachers and the staff were very kind, but I came to the States looking for a different kind of approach but I found the traditional method, which I sincerely dislike, as a teacher.

Also in the class, the levels were too different. I know this variation in class can sometimes be good, but I felt that at I was wasting my time at most parts.

"It was a nice experience and I had the possibility to learn a lot and meet lots of new people"

Tina Reiner, student from Austria

Thanks to my parents, I had the possibility to travel to Philadelphia to improve my English.

It was a really nice stay over there. I not only improved my English, but also met a lot of new people from all around the world. For me, the lessons were very helpful, because I could improve my writing and my speaking skills in class. Also I was lucky that I was the only German speaking person, so I had to speak English all the time. I think it was better for me than for the other students, because most of them were either from South Arabia or from South America and so most of them spoke in the same language.

The only thing I didn't like very much was my room, because when I arrived it wasn't very clean and as I was only there for 2 weeks I didn't thought about cleaning up my room all by myself at the beginning of my trip. But the rest of the campus was pretty nice and I really recommend living on the campus, because you also have the possibility to meet some regular students of the college.

All in all it was a really nice trip and I would do it again.

"A discovery of many cultures."

Adam Souli, student from France

I really enjoyed my 2 weeks of English courses. I had a really good welcome by the staff members and by my teacher. One of best things in the way of teaching there was the exchange between the students during the class. It helps so much to have the correct pronunciation! Unfortunately, I started getting bored since the second week because we studied something that I already knew, and the tests were too too easy (I was in level 6) and working rhythm was too slow for me. It was not really intensive. By the way, my teacher told me that I could have been in level 7.

I made many friends and learned so many things from different cultures. Students came from all around the world, and that's amazing! I think that is what makes the charm of this program.

visa

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $55 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
