Seated on the banks of the Garonne river, Toulouse houses a wealth of ancient buildings and historic sites not to be missed. When classes are over, just go out and take a walk before stopping for a drink at one of the cafés – on every street corner you'll find buildings that take your breath away. You'll find yourself learning French double-quick just so you can ask all the questions you'll have as you visit ancient palaces, hospitals, and churches, all beautifully preserved. Go for a concert at the Basilique Saint-Sernin, which houses the most beautiful pipe organ in France, or visit one of the many art galleries housed in ancient buildings. Or, if you're the type to look more to the future than to the past, go to the Cité de l'Espace – the space-centered theme park that will give you a view of just where the universe came from and where it's going, from the Big Bang to manned flights in space. This course is designed for those who want to optimize their stay in France and practice French intensively, both orally and in writing. Students work on production and comprehension skills, both oral and written, based on concrete, everyday situations.
