The city of Campbell is located in Santa Clara County in the state of California. It is considered a suburb of San Jose in the San Francisco Bay area. The city was founded by Benjamin Campbell who originally came to the area with his father, then purchased land to grow hay and grain. The land was later purchased by a railway company and became a shipping center for the nearby fruit growers. The city was officially incorporated in 1952. Students enrolled in English school in Campbell should be sure to visit the Campbell Historic Museum and Ainsley House. It is restored and decorated to reflect the grandeur of the home when it was built by the canning pioneer, J.C. Ainsley. The surrounding English gardens are enjoyed by visitors as well.
